Will we know the stage details before arriving at the Apocalypse?
Yes, due to the high risk of injury and need for weapons safety, beyond what you’re use to in 2 Gun Competitions, everyone needs to be informed. We will give everyone the stage parameters about a week out so you can game plan your approach as you would in a real life Apocalypse. This will allow you to ask any questions before you get here. This also makes the stage walk throughs on Friday that much quicker.

Shooters choice. It’s the end of the world, the apocalypse. Go with what you know. Know your hold overs inside and out.
How does scoring differ between the 2 days?
Times from both days will be added for an overall total score. The Apocalypse takes into account both fitness and marksmanship for the overall winning team. You can’t fitness your way, or shoot your way to 1st place. A real Apocalypse will be all encompassing; if your mental fortitude in all areas isn’t on par, you’ll know real quick.
Example:
With penalties and bonuses your total time for Day 1 is 2Hr’s 25Min’s 10Sec’s
Total time with penalties and bonuses your total time for Day 2 is 20Min’s 30Sec’s
Total Overall Time: 2hrs 45Min’s 40Sec’s
NOVEMBER 9TH RUN & GUN DEATH RACE
What is the total distance of the Apocalypse?
Roughly 2.5 - 3 miles
Firearms stage fulfillment “Go and No-GO”
Each stage has it’s own requirements. Most will need to have all targets eliminated before you can move on to the next stage. Some stages are “limited attempts” (failure to neutralize / failure engage) targets, after a certain amount of attempts you will forced to move on. There will pars time stages in order to stay on the over all clock. You will know in advance which ones these are and what the par time is going to be. Finally, phase-line stages; think of these as big over all par times. If you are too slow to arrive at a stage with a phase line, you will be pushed past it in order to not screw the team behind you.
What are distances of the targets?
Varying from 5 yards to 400ish yards.
What is the target situation?
Knock Downs, Balloons, RCC Guillotine, Steel, Clays, Gongs, Movers, Precision Targets, and Spinner. Sizes range from 3” to C-Zone size.
Do we have to carry all of gear or can we pre-stage things?
Yes, EVERYTHING you need will be carried by you the entire time. At any point if you need drop gear you no longer wish to carry, simply leave it with one the stage handlers.
Will there be breaks between stages?
Fuck No, all stages will be performed back to back. If you need a break between stages, this comp isn’t for you.
Medical stages
You will have a minimum of 3 medical scenarios, wound packing, tourniquet placement, and chest seal administration. About a month out we will send videos to all of the competitors of EXACTLY what we are looking for, no more, no less.
Observation Stages (OBS)
You will be given a 10ft by 5ft area to set up in and you will be given 7 minutes exactly to find 20 items. Each item is worth 30 seconds.
Obstacle Stages
Obstacles will be negotiated between stages, these will be demonstrated on Friday during the walk through. ALL obstacles can easily be negotiated by a 13 year old. None of them are overly complicated; not pacing yourself is what will ruin your over all time.
What does “Strip and Rip” mean?
It means, strip your magazine out & rip that round out. YOU MUST ensure you have two Cadre watch your bolt go home on an empty chamber. THEN, and ONLY then, will you re-insert your magazine WITHOUT racking a round. This will be done at various stages where you have the potential to flag someone; climbing over a wall, running through the woods, running through crowds, etc.
Will the ammo load-outs be different from stage to stage?
Yes and no, (Yes) all stages will require different amounts of ammo. Some stages for rifle only, pistol only, and both rifle and pistol. (No) You will not have a set number of magazines and ammo per stage. Once you start the course of fire you must have all your ammo with you for the entire course.
Do my teammate and I have to use the same type of gun?
No, but there will be a stage where you are required to use your partners weapon. Plan accordingly.
How will I be scored?
Day 1 scoring will be based on the overall time of the 2.5 - 3 mile firefight, from start to finish. How fast and for how long can you run and gun.
Day 2 scoring will be based on speed, accuracy, and consistency; during our tactical marksmanship evaluation.
Penalties and bonuses from both day 1 and 2 will be reflected in the overall time. Penalties will add time to your overall raw time and bonuses will take time off your overall raw time.
What will I be penalized for?
The 2024 Penalties are still TBD
Hostage = 5 Minutes
Failure to meet phase line time hack = 4 Minutes
No Shoots = 3 Minutes
Failure to eliminate all required targets = 3 Minutes
Failure to Radio In Check-Ins or Phase Lines = 3 Minutes
Any missed “OBS” (Observation) Targets = 1 Minute
For scoring purposes... What is the difference between a hostage and a no shoot?
A hostage is someone you care about or a victim. A no shoot is a bad guy’s buddy you wanted to keep alive to get intel from. In a real life Apocalypse, hitting a hostage/friend/victim would have a greater negative impact on you than hitting a bad guy you wanted to question.
That is a phase line time hack?
Throughout the entire course there are areas that need to be completed in a certain amount of time. Think of it as a par time. If you do not make that time you will get penalized. Similar to selection.
How do bonuses work?
The 2024 Bonuses are still TBD.
Blue Balloon = -1 Minute
Kim’s Target = -1 Minute
Certain Obstacles Negotiations = -1 Minute
Radio In & PID Navigation Boxes = 3 Minutes
What is a Kims target?
Kim’s = “Keep In Memory”
You will be given pictures to memorize 5 minutes before you launch for your course of fire.
They are targets of opportunity, if you see them throughout the course you must shoot them at least twice (within the dotted line) to get the bonus points.
I heard there will be a “shooting from a canoe stage” Last of the Mohicans style?
That’s correct, it’s in the works. One shooter, one paddler, the quicker you hit your targets, the quicker you can help your buddy paddle to the other side.
NOVEMBER 10TH TACTICAL MARKSMANSHIP
What is “Tactical Marksmanship”?
Simply put, it’s basic fundamentals put in action minus range-isms and/or training scars.
What to expect.
Sunday, you will be evaluated on how well you can implement marksmanship skills as a “Shooter”. We’re grading how well you can shoot; we’re grading aptitude to a given environment, with parameters and variables unlike other competitions. Anyone can stand still and hit a-zone shots. How well can you turn 180 degrees and shoot a-zone shots while on the move with a hostage next to that a-zone? How well can you hit a room and process what your target is, and then exercise target discrimination while on the move with only a-zone hits?
Target Scenario?
For the Tac-Mark day we will using the RCC ALL-IN-ONE target, various steel targets, and IPSC targets.
How will we be graded?
Like most other competitions; however, we will use a time value vs a point value for penalties and bonuses.
How many times do we get to run each stage?
Because we all “think” we can run things better the second time, SOME stages you will be allowed to run twice; HOWEVER, if you run it slower the second time we will add BOTH runs together for your total time value. IF your second run is faster, you will only receive a time value based on that second run. This prevents wasted time and keeps you accountable to your own capabilities. It pays to know your limits.
1st Example:
1 Run takes 2 Min’s 10 Sec’s
2nd Run takes you 2 Min” 15 Sec’s
This means your second run sucked and your
total time is 4:25
2nd Example:
1st Run takes you 2 Min’s 10 Sec’s
2nd Run takes you 2 Min’s 2 Sec’s
This means your total time is 2:02; thanks for
not wasting our time.
What is the length of the stages?
Most stages will be done in less than 15 seconds. The rest will be roughly 45 seconds. With the “long” ones being 3-6 minutes.
