THE RCC STORY
ABOUT OUR GEAR:
“Necessity is the mother of invention”. RC was born out of my need to find superior quality kit/gear that not only allowed me to perform my best downrange in high pressure situations but also transitioned from high profile to low profile missions. After completing 8 years in the Marine Corps I began a career downrange as an executive security adviser. With this new position I found myself in need of the right kit/gear to do the job but anything worth a shit was back ordered at least 6 months leaving me scrambling. I have never been one to wait around so I began teaching myself how to make holsters and mag holders. In 2009, I began designing and manufacturing accessories for myself and a few teammates; who like me, needed great gear, made to last at the right price. Over the last 10 years I have continued to educate myself on the manufacturing process and pride myself in finding the best materials for each product. For me making gear isn’t a job it is a passion; one I am happy to share with others looking for quality gear to help them perform better on the job! Recently I have expanded my inventory to include nearly every item in a shooters tool box including OFP kit/plate carriers, shooter belts, slings & our newest item, a special edition Skallywag Deep 6 Karambit.
WHY RC TRAINING?:
“Shoot Fast, Don’t Suck!” It wasn’t until I was responsible for my own Team in the Marine Corps that I realized I needed to step up my game as a shooter. My focus became constant improvement, measured every time I stepped onto the range. I quickly learned that becoming a great marksman with a pistol demanded so much more skill than handling a rifle. I realized I need to put more focus into expanding my craft. The Glock 17 is my pistol of choice and the one I train with the most. When I push my limits, however, I prefer my Red Clover Concepts “Crassus” build; it’s a Polymer 80 frame with our signature Crassus Cut Design, made by AMF Defense. My M4-SML build is from Sons of Liberty Gun Works, based in the great state of Texas. Looking for something even better, I designed our Crassus Cut slide with the Glock 17 platform, pairing it with the Polymer 80’s PF940V2 frame for a flawless shooter experience.
My motto has always been, “Adaptation is the key to survival” and this is why I strive to share my knowledge with as many people as possible in the most straightforward way possible. I’ve come across a lot of instructors that overemphasis and add a lot of “fluff” to their programs rather than focusing on the most important aspects of tactical training. This sets the trainee up for failure and can promote bad habits & nasty range-ism’s that just might get you killed in a gun fight! Our goal at Red Clover Concepts is to cut through all the nonsense and provide you with real world training and techniques to ensure success in any situation.
Looking to up your game? My favorite RCC Drill is Manor 4. I love this drill because it encompasses everything, from proper gear selection, speed, movement, to spacial awareness, and accuracy. But most important, this drill requires the right MINDSET. If your head is not in the game when you run this drill you will definitely show your ass. All I can say is “be ready, shoot fast and don’t suck.”
WHY RC PHOTOGRAPHY?:
“Photography is the beauty of life captured” Photography has always been a passion of mine dating back to the “good old days” of film.
I’m self taught with a blend of hard work and natural talent. For the past 9 years, I’ve spent countless hours teaching myself new techniques and discussing the pro and cons to various methods with other pros in the industry. Having friends in the biz has certainly helped me hone my craft and pushed me to excel; utilizing cutting edge techniques at shoots and during the edit process. My first professional shoot was back in 2011 with a good friend as my “subject”. I was using a Nikon D90 at the time (since upgraded to a Nikon D7000) and the pictures came out great! Needless to say I was stoked and my photography became more than just a passion project. My favorite shoots are lifestyle and fitness with the majority in and around the Jacksonville, FL area. Favorite place to shoot is definitely outdoors - more specifically the beaches around Palm Coast FL (Marine Land). The vibe there is great, there are some natural rocks and the lighting is perfect for a sunrise shoot. My advice for first timers, “don’t be afraid to ask a lot of questions!” Go into the conversation with a good idea of the what you want your photos to “say” about you and our team will take if from there! RC Photography is comprised of professionals focused on YOU and making the experience FUN!
