All In One Target Drills

Platform Drill

This is basic shooting platform drill WITH gear check.  So many times it’s easy shoot when we’re standing the perfect position waiting for the buzzer OR we’ve set up our gear for a particular stage.  This drill is designed for you to see how your gear/ kit set-up, holds up and effects your accuracy in various positions for real world shooting.

Target Zone

Outer Squares

-TL    Bottom Left

-TR    Bottom Right

-BR    Top Right

-BL    Top Left

Distance

10yards for Pistol

25yards for Rifle

Load Out

1 M4 Mag with a total of 16rds ONLY

1 Pistol Mag with a total of 16rds ONLY

Considerations

You can add extra mags to make the drill more frustrating with reloads, it will ALLOW you to find out if your gear is set up properly for real life engagements.

4 M4 Mags or less, with a total of 16rds ONLY

4 Pistol Mags or less with a total of 16rds ONLY

Drill

Facing UP-RANGE (from the holster for pistol) - At the sound of the buzzer, turn and execute…

-4rds Standing

-4rds Kneeling

-4rds Sitting

-4rds Prone

Considerations

If you can’t draw from the holster or move…

At the buzzer, just punch out/ ready up and execute...

4 Horsemen (Rifle or Pistol)

This is an accuracy, speed, and memory (round count) drill.

Each circle ONLY gets 4 rounds, and you only have 16 rounds total.  The goal is to push yourself to be quick enough to get all three rounds inside the circles, but not be so quick you start missing (think hostage taker scenario).  ALONG with remembering how many shots you’ve just put into a circle, mid-reload, so you keep only a total of 4 shots per circle.

Target Zone

Circles 1, 2, 3, and 4, in that order.

Distance

7 yards for Pistol

15 yards for Rifle

Load Out

1 M4 Mag with a total of 16rds ONLY

1 Pistol Mag with a total of 16rds ONLY

Considerations

You can add extra mags to make the drill more frustrating with reloads, such as…

4 M4 Mags or less, with a total of 16rds ONLY

4 Pistol Mags or less, with a total of 16rds ONLY

Drill

Facing UP-RANGE  (from the holster for pistol) - At the sound of the buzzer, turn and execute…

Firing 4rds in each 4in circle (in order, 1, 2, 3, 4, in that order).  If adding mags then do up to 3 sporadic reload. (load different amounts of ammo in each mag)

Considerations

If you can’t draw from the holster or move…

At the buzzer, just punch out/ ready up and execute...

Call Out Drill (Rifle or Pistol)

This is a two-person speed drill. Or you can use our “Call Out” pre recorded track if you use bluetooth ear pro.

Target Zone

Every area of the target.

Distance

5 yards for Pistol

15 yards for Rifle

Load Out

Top off your mags

Considerations

Stack you mags with unknown round count to force yourself to reload causing you to throttle down then having to throttle up quickly.  This is a fun one so ammo goes quick.  While most of our drills are low round count, this one is a high round count drill.

Drill

Facing UP-RANGE  (from the holster for pistol) - At the sound of the buzzer, turn and execute…

Shoot which ever target is called out by your partner.  All target zones are free game to into Left Tic Tac, 4 squares, and Right Tic Tac.  Warm up with one round, then move to 2 to factor in slight recoil mitigation.  If your partner is calling the target zones out fast enough you won’t have time to get more than 2 shots off.

Considerations

Try to make the next target call BEFORE or AS your partner hits their target. It will make them have to transition faster.  You can designate certain target zones as “Pistol ONLY” zones making the shooter have to transition.
